Fifth annual Woodland Water-Wise Landscape Tour

Where: Start at Woodland Community Center, 2001 East St., Woodland

When: Registration, 8:30-10 a.m.; tour 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21

Learn how to be more water wise in your own garden with this inspirational event. Registration includes displays and presentations from gardening and conservation experts. Then, pick up a tour map and see 10 low-water landscapes.

38th annual Satsuki-Aikokai Bonsai Show

Where: Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd., Sacramento

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 21 and 22

See fabulous blooming bonsai trees in this colorful show. Demonstrations at 1:30 p.m. both days by botanist and bonsai nurseryman Yuzo Maruyama. Create your own satsuki azalea bonsai to take home in workshops ($10) at 11 a.m. both days.

Los Lagos Garden Tour

Where: Start at St. Joseph Marello Church, 7200 Auburn Folsom Road, Granite Bay.

When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 21

Experience six spectacular private gardens in the Los Lagos community during this tour with proceeds benefiting the Placer Food Bank. Live music and refreshments will be offered at each stop.
