Put on your ‘drought face’
This is part of a weekly feature in Home & Garden, highlighting ways residents can save water.
▪ Skip shaving for a day.
OK, you may feel a little scruffy, but this is one of many little acts that can add up to significant water savings over time. You’ll save about 5 gallons every day you don’t shave. Need inspiration? Earlier this month, the Regional Water Authority sponsored a contest that asked water savers to skip shaving for a day (or two), then send in snapshots of their “Drought Face.” The winner will appear soon on a digital billboard at Cal Expo next to Interstate 80, ready to inspire thousands of commuters to skip shaving and start saving, too.
