SPCA gets windfall from burrito sales
Burrito sales added up to a windfall Friday for homeless animals at the Sacramento SPCA.
Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in Northern California donated half its sales at 16 restaurants that day to the agency. Customers needed only to mention the SPCA to the cashier while paying for their orders.
The fundraiser will send $13,410 into the nonprofit group’s coffers, exceeding its $12,000 goal, said spokeswoman Dawn Foster.
On Thursday, Shriners Hospital in Sacramento will benefit from a similar promotion.
