Here are 7 major US cities you can fly to directly from Sacramento International Airport
Sacramento International Airport flies direct to more than 15 states in the country — and that’s not including the international nonstop flights to Mexico and Canada.
In early June, the airport announced it was adding non-stop flights to Toronto.
With summer just around the corner and travel on the rise, below is a full list of cities you can visit with no layovers involved, according to the airport website.
Below we break out prices for seven major cities you can fly directly to from Sacramento International Airport. A complete list can be found at the end of this story:
Direct flight to Miami from SMF
Flights to Miami’s, South Beach will be available starting July 14, through American Airlines.
The flight is roughly 7 hours from Sacramento International Airport to Miami International Airport. If you plan ahead, and book a trip at least three weeks in advance, you can find round trip flights starting at $310.
Direct flight to New York from SMF
Planning a trip to New York City?
You can fly direct to John F. Kennedy airport with Jetblue from Sacramento. The flight is roughly 5 hours and 21 minutes long.
Jetblue has flights to JFK starting at around $250 if you book two weeks in advance. If you book three weeks in advance tickets are even cheaper. As of Friday, there is a one way ticket from Sacramento to JFK, leaving August 9 for $109.
Direct flight to Seattle from SMF
If you’re considering a trip to the Pacific Northwest, you can shop around with three different airlines for direct flights to Tacoma International Airport. The flight from Sacramento is roughly an hour and 50 minutes.
Sacramento airport offers direct flights with Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The most affordable tickets we found were through Southwest. As of Friday, you can find a one-way ticket leaving from Sacramento August 16 for $82.
Direct flight to Las Vegas from SMF
Direct flights to Las Vegas are available with Southwest and Spirit Airlines. The trip from Sacramento into Harry Reid International Airport is roughly an hour and 15 minutes long.
You can snag a one-way flight with Spirit Airlines for $26 as early as Aug. 2.
Direct flight to Honolulu from SMF
Nonstop flights are available to Honolulu from Sacramento through Hawaiian Airlines and Southwest. The flight takes roughly 5 hours and 35 minutes.
After a quick search on both airlines, Southwest has the most affordable direct flights into Honolulu, at $236 for a one-way ticket, leaving Aug. 10.

You can fly directly from Sacramento to Austin with either Southwest or American Airlines. The flight takes roughly 4 hours and 50 minutes.
Southwest has one-way tickets starting at $146, leaving Aug. 23.

Direct flights into the United States capital take roughly 4 hours and 56 minutes with United Airlines. You can find a one-way direct flight with United Airlines, leaving Aug. 16, at $248.
