Downtown Sacramento deli to close this week: ‘We stuck it out as long as we could’

A closed restaurant

Zia’s Delicatessen in downtown Sacramento is closing its doors this Thursday.

Located on O Street, the family-owned deli has been serving customers for nine years.

“We stuck it out as long as we could,” said Jonathan Crilly, the manager of the Sacramento location. He said it didn’t make sense financially to stay open.

Crilly said the business has been struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Davis location of Zia’s Delicatessen will remain open.

You can enjoy Zia’s specialty sandwiches at the downtown location until Thursday at 1401 O St. Suite A.

If you’re in the Davis area, you can catch Zia’s Delicatessen at 616 Third St.
