Your guide to 4/20 in Sacramento: Cannabis deals, discounts and events
The origin of 4/20 — a holiday for marijuana enthusiasts — is, maybe unsurprisingly, right here in California. So the story goes, it stems from a group of teens at a Marin County school in the 1970s. But April 20 celebrations have spread, with a range of deals and weed-inspired events in cities across the country.
And Sacramento has several of each — for veteran smokers and newbies.
Here’s a roundup of a few dispensaries in the Sacramento area as well as a couple of events to help kick start your cannabis holiday:
Dispensary deals
Location: 3015 H Street, Sacramento
A Therapeutic Alternative will have specials, “swag” bags, demos, live music, treats and more, according to its Facebook page. The dispensary will also give bags to members who purchase at 4:20 p.m.
Location: 1404 28th Street, Sacramento
Starting at 9 a.m., Green Solutions will offer 42 deals including promotions and discounts all day long, according to its website.
Locations: 2035 Stockton Boulevard and 1508 El Camino Avenue
Perfect Union, a dispensary with two locations in Sacramento, will offer 30% off select brands and in-store deals on Wednesday, according to its website.
Northstar Holistic Collective
Location: 1236 C Street
Northstar Holistic Collective will offer a range of deals on Wednesday including raffles.
Location: 1716 J Street
Cookies Sacramento in midtown will offer buy-one-get-one free edibles, pre-rolls and more, according to its website.
Locations: Multiple
Kolas, with several locations in Sacramento, will offer a range of 4/20 promotions on flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates and more.
Locations: 1421 47th Avenue and 1115 Fee Drive
Lemonade will offer a range of deals Wednesday including edibles, concentrates and more for buy-one-get-one for a $1 at both of Sacramento locations.
4/20 events
Celebrate 4/20 with food, music and deals
Mainstage, a dispensary with locations in Davis and Sacramento will celebrate 4/20 with food, deals and more. The bigger event at 1605 2nd Street, Davis will feature food trucks, music, raffles, deals and more from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Show a receipt from either the Sacramento or Davis location to enter the event.
A smaller event will be held at 2320 Broadway, Sacramento and will include food, “swag” bags and promotions.
An event for cannabis and yoga connoisseurs
Location: 2114 P Street, Sacramento
Tickets: $0 to $127
Enjoy an event mixed with cannabis, yoga and food. The event is 21 and older and you must show a valid I.D for entry.
