This Sacramento Vietnamese restaurant closed. A local Mexican food chain is moving in
Los Inmortales Taqueria Cocina Mexicana is slated to open a fourth location in the Sacramento area — this time at a former brick-and-mortar of Vietnamese restaurant Pho Ivy II.
The storefront at 501 Broadway in Sacramento — which used to be shades of brown, black and gray with red accents — is now painted bright orange and red to match the local Mexican restaurant chain’s signature colors.
Block letters that spell “Pho Ivy II” on a sign can still be seen blocks from the restaurant, peeking through orange spray paint.
Pho Ivy II permanently closed its doors a couple of weeks ago, the restaurant told The Bee. The owner wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Pho Ivy’s Elk Grove location remains open at 9261 Laguna Springs Drive.
The business is known for its variations of pho, a Vietnamese soup typically made with savory broth, rice noodles, herbs, meats and lime. The menu also consists of rice and noodle dishes, soups, sandwiches, appetizers and specialty drinks.
