Popular Folsom beer bar and restaurant will close Dec. 29. Cans of beer now 10% off

Heckle Alehouse & Eatery will close Dec. 29, the Folsom restaurant announced Tuesday night on Facebook.

Matt Garrido opened his counter-service beer bar and restaurant at 705 Gold Lake Dr. #390, just north of the Historic Folsom District, in 2016. Sparsely decorated with a concrete floor, Heckle’s burgers and beer endeared it to many in Folsom: it had 4.5 stars on Yelp after nearly 200 reviews.

“We appreciate all of the support that we have gotten from the community, but we simply do not have the volume required to continue going forward,” Heckle’s post read. “That said, we don’t want this to be a sad ending. We prefer to see this as a (two) week long Irish style wake. Come in, raise a glass, and celebrate the good times we have had over the past (three) years.”

All cans sold at Heckle will be 10 percent off with more discounts to come as the year draws to an end, Garrido wrote. Heckle will maintain its full food menu through Sunday before reducing options during the week of Christmas.
