Update: Bar and banquet kitchen inside Delta King re-open after clean health inspection

Well, half the boat passed.

The Delta King’s banquet kitchen and paddlewheel bar were closed after a Sacramento County Environmental Management District inspection turned up evidence of a rodent infestation Tuesday, though the Pilothouse restaurant and delta bar conditionally passed a separate inspection.

An inspector found gnaw marks on bags and containers storing pasta, both of which were voluntarily discarded, plus 25 rodent droppings under the mop sink, dry storage room shelves and oven. The boat docked on the Sacramento River in Old Sacramento had not yet been reinspected as of Thursday morning.

Roughly 35 more rodent droppings were found in Thai Mango at 7837 Stockton Blvd. #700, which also had major violations of the county’s rules on hot and cold holding temperatures and warewashing/sanitizing procedures in its inspection last Thursday. Thai Mango, whose bimonthly pest control service last came Dec. 2, reopened Friday after passing reinspection.

Perhaps the most egregious rodent infestation of the week came at Neighborhood Grocery Store in Alkali Flat, which failed its inspection Tuesday but was back open by Wednesday. The convenience store at 402 12th St. had about 175 droppings along the walls, by the chest freezer, around the front counter and in the cabinet under the coffee machine, plus hundreds more on the floor behind multiple shelves.

Cockroaches were the problem at Waffle Shop in North Highlands, where an inspector found at least 30 insects in cracks in the prep/cooking areas. The diner at 4641 Watt Ave. was closed Tuesday before passing reinspection Wednesday.

The Arden-Arcade Ramada hotel’s kitchen and its adjoined Fulton 80 Taphouse and Capital City Catering remained closed Thursday morning after an inspection Wednesday turned up a vermin/animal infestation, according to Sacramento County’s website. A full report for the restaurant and bar at 2600 Auburn Blvd., which was closed for two days for the same reason in August, was not available as of Thursday.

Pho City in Lemon Hill Plaza also failed its inspection Wednesday for a vermin/animal infestation, plus hot and cold holding temperature violations. A full report for the Vietnamese restaurant at 6175 Stockton Blvd. #210 was not available as of Thursday morning.
