Vote here: Which local restaurant makes the Sacramento region’s best brunch?
Brunch is luxury. Brunch is privilege. Brunch is eating for the company as well as the food, enjoyed almost exclusively with others and made more difficult during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s a meal beyond the three squares, where people lounge over benedicts and pancakes that are pretty simple and inexpensive to make, though not necessarily to buy. Customers go for the ambiance and chance to catch up with friends as much as the smoked salmon or bellinis, and hour-long wait times prior to the pandemic signaled an appetite for more.
So where is the Sacramento area’s best brunch? Is it the dim sum palace recognized by Michelin, the gluten-free bakery or the place named after brunch’s most popular drink? Cast your vote below; voting will conclude at noon on Feb. 16. A word of advice: Most classic American brunch dishes are best enjoyed on outdoor patios or immediately after being finished. Eggs turn cold and potatoes lose their crisp mighty quick, particularly on chilly February mornings.
