Easter brunches and Passover Seders can be a lot of work. A handful of local restaurants are willing to pick it up.
Fewer restaurants are offering to-go feasts than in years past, asking customers to come dine in-person now that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be behind us Others, such as Selland’s Market-Cafe, have already ceased taking orders.
These places are still cooking, though. Order quickly before they run out.
Bennett’s American Cooking and Bennett’s Kitchen Bar & Market (2232 Fair Oaks Blvd, Sacramento and 1595 Eureka Rd., Roseville): Pre-order $89 takeout Easter family feasts that include house-baked ham, roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes and other sides for four. Customers can pick up their bundles up anytime after 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
Elk Grove Donuts (10043 Bruceville Rd., Suite 140, Elk Grove): DIY home decorating kits include six bunny-shaped doughnuts, three kinds of frosting, sprinkles and more, all for $17. Order in advance.
Fat’s Asia Bistro (2585 Iron Point Rd., Folsom and 1500 Eureka Rd., Roseville): Full orders of Fat Family Restaurant Group’s famous banana cream pie can be placed in advance to sweeten your Easter celebration.
Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates (1801 L St., Suite 60, Sacramento and 2413 J St., Suite 120, Sacramento): Easter pastry boxes with baked goods like a raspberry danish croissant or almond cake are available for pre-order and pickup on Friday, as are goodie baskets with chocolate bunnies, marshmallow caramel eggs and more.
Matteo’s Pizza & Bistro (5132 Arden Way, Carmichael): Matteo’s is offering a wide range of takeout options for Easter brunch, from smoked brisket picadillo empanadas to garlic pistachio-crusted rack of lamb to grilled vegetable frittata. Customers must pre-order and pay by noon Wednesday before picking up from 2-5 p.m. Saturday.
Solomon’s (730 K St., Sacramento): Customers can pre-order quarts of matzo ball soup for pick-up before Passover Seder dinners Friday or Saturday.
