Auburn craft brewery launching soon in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville

An Auburn brewery is opening a new taproom in the former unit of the Gordon Biersch Tavern in Roseville.

Knee Deep Brewing Co. announced on social media Monday it is planning to open a new tasting room in the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, 1151 Galleria Blvd.

The social media video shows a blocked-off section of the mall’s second story near Shake Shack and the main food court. A large board surrounding the construction zone advertises the brewery, shows breezy concept art of the future restaurant and teases a winter opening.

The space formerly housed a brewing company from the Bay Area until it closed in 2018.

Knee Deep Brewing recently opened a new tasting room at 2793 E. Bidwell St. in Folsom in late October. The craft brewery launched in South Lake Tahoe in 2010 before moving to Lincoln the following year, and finally landing at 13395 New Airport Road, Suite H, in Auburn in 2013, according to its website.

The brewery’s new outpost will be the second taproom actively operating in the Galleria, with the self-pour Tapville Social open mere steps from the future Knee Deep Brewing.
