Folsom Chick-fil-A to reopen soon after months of construction. Find out when

After four months of temporary closure, Folsom’s only Chick-fil-A restaurant is finally reopening in the first week of February.

In October, the fast food eatery at 2679 East Bidwell St. shut down for a remodeling project. The planned closure was announced in July, when Chick-fil-A franchise owner Crane Food Services LLC filed a WARN Act notice with the California Employment Development Department, according to previous Bee reporting.

Though the original mass layoff notice estimated the Chick-fil-A restaurant would be closed for nine weeks, it did not include a specific reopening date in case of “events that are unforeseeable or beyond our control.”

The WARN notice said 85 employees would be temporarily unemployed amid the closure. Social media posts from the restaurant indicated some Folsom staff members were relocated to other Sacramento-area Chick-fil-A outposts.

According to a Facebook post from the fried chicken eatery, the remodeling project is coming to a close and a reopening date was set. In a social media post prior to its closure, the Folsom Chick-fil-A said the updated eatery would include “a brand new 2-lane drive-thru, a streamlined kitchen, and a refreshed dining room for you to enjoy.”

Chick-fil-A on East Bidwell Street will reopen on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. There were no plans for a reopening event or food and drink specials announced online.

Leading up to the Folsom outpost’s reopening, the restaurant has been engaging with eagerly awaiting customers on social media. Fans and followers had multiple opportunities to win a limited edition cow plush toy by interacting with the restaurant online.

According to Facebook comments, Chick-fil-A fans traveled to restaurants in Granite Bay and Rancho Cordova to get their chicken fix during the closure.
