3 Keke’s Breakfast Cafe locations slated to open in Sacramento region. See where

Neetu and Sanjeev Bali have owned and operated two Bay Area Denny’s franchises since 2000.

Now, they are looking to bring three locations of Florida-based Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, a subsidiary of Denny’s, to the Sacramento region.

“Since Denny’s acquired Keke’s in 2022, we have been keeping an eye on it because it sounds really tempting,” Neetu Bali said.

The Balis were attracted to the business because it’s a “day part” business, unlike Denny’s 24-hour concept. The restaurants open at 7 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m.

“We call it a ‘bright restaurant’ because it’s daytime, and you can have life after work,” she said.

Keke’s serves classic American diner-style breakfast and lunch dishes. Breakfast options include pancakes, waffles, omelets and eggs to order. Lunch fare includes sandwiches, paninis, rolls and salads. The restaurant offers coffee, tea, soft drinks and wine-based cocktails like mimosas, Bellinis and sangria.

The locations have not been established yet. Working with the Keke’s real estate team, the Balis are looking at locations in Sacramento, Roseville, Rocklin and Folsom, as well as other high-growth locations.

“Sacramento diners are savvy and it’s getting very densely populated. The city is growing, even the adjoining cities to Sacramento are growing. So we want to grow with them,” she said.

One of the tenets of the Keke’s brand is the concept of a fresh start, whether just greeting a new day or starting a new chapter in life.

“Everyone is welcome: experience, no experience, people looking for something quick, or even a second job. All training will be done in house. We will employ people that are willing to work and take pride in all aspects of the Keke’s brand,” Bali said.
