A new coffee shop opened this week in Fair Oaks, with a range of activities planned this Saturday for its grand opening.

Temple Coffee Roasters opened its new location at 4307 Hazel Ave. Monday in Hazel Ridge Plaza, which is also home to businesses including Donut Stop, Mikuni, O’Haira’s Nail Spa and Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

The new shop’s coffee menu includes French press, cold brew, drip coffee, espresso and lattes, according to a menu on the front counter. Tea options include Thai iced tea, a matcha latte and various flavors of black, oolong, green, white and tisane teas. A kids menu is also available with milk, hot chocolate and a steamer with syrup.

Saturday’s opening celebration includes exclusive giveaways to the first 50 customers, according to a sign on the front door. There will also be a photo booth and a disc jockey from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Temple Coffee Roasters started in 2005 after its founder, Sean Kohmescher, spent time in Indonesia, according to previous Bee reporting. He aims to create a community gathering space similar to temples he visited there.

Now, the coffee chain has a number of locations in the Sacramento area, including Arden Arcade, Davis, East Sacramento and Folsom.

The new Hazel Ridge Plaza location is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
