Attorney IV | Permanent, full-time

The Franchise Tax Board is looking for a litigation attorney focused on employment law. They will work with the department’s administrative services division to provide advice and guidance on various employment law issues such as employee discipline, the Family Medical Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity complaints, worksite security, legal compliance with state employment policies as well as other various state and federal laws.

The position will also represent the department in front of administrative tribunals such as the State Personnel Board and the California Department of Human Resources as well as assist the attorney general’s office on civil litigation matters.

Assistant Chief Counsel | Permanent, full-time

The assistant chief counsel plans, directs, and reviews the work performed by legal staff who advise and represent the Department of Industrial Relations and its executive leadership.

Chief, Fiscal Forecasting Division | Permanent, full-time

Chief Information Security Officer | Permanent, full-time

Captain, Adult Institution | Permanent, full-time

The adult institution captain serves as a manager of a correctional unit inside a facility. The position’s duties include planning and assigning the work of custodial staff; overseeing an accurate system of inmate count; supervising the movement of employees, inmates, and visitors; and inspecting incoming and outgoing vehicles, materials, and supplies for the presence of contraband.

The position is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. They must reside in California upon appointment.

Assistant Division Manager | Permanent, full-time

The assistant division manager is in charge of leading staff throughout the Department of Water Resources assigned to work on California Aqueduct Subsidence Program projects.

The clinical social worker conducts assessments and summarizes case information to use in diagnosis, treatment, and dispositional release; diagnoses and/or collaborates in the formulation of a diagnosis; develops, monitors, and modifies treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

It also provides assessments, group therapy, and documents and evaluates patients’ progress in treatment. The clinical social worker coordinates placement with community resources and the classification and parole representative.

The position reports to the correctional facility senior psychologist or the supervising psychiatric social worker. This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.

Deputy Chief | Permanent, full-time

  • Department: Motor Vehicles

The deputy chief directs area commanders in planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating all investigative efforts under their geographic area of responsibility. Evaluates performance of staff and takes or recommends appropriate action.
