Sacramento’s Jump bike and scooter service stopped due to the coronavirus

Jump bikes and scooters are being shut down in Sacramento.

Parent company Uber announced late Wednesday it is suspending its Jump service in Sacramento to reduce the spread of coronavirus and COVID-19.

Jump has been popular in Sacramento since the electric-boosted bikes debuted in 2018. The scooters came a year later. The two services will go dark “until further notice,” the company said.

Customers use the Uber app to rent the bikes and scooters.

Uber said its signature ride-sharing service, as well as its Uber Eats food delivery service, will continue.
