Siblings to open their second bookstore in Sacramento. Find out where
A women-owned independent bookstore founded in Sacramento is opening a second location within the city.
Wild Sisters Book Co., owned by siblings Claire Bone and Noelle Baganz, announced this month that their newest store would open in Old Sacramento. Customers will be able to check it out on June 26, according to the company’s social media.
The second Wild Sisters bookstore will be housed in the new and remodeled Paperwork Building, the owners wrote online. The Paperwork Building is on 1115 Front Street across from Waterfront Park.
As self-described life-long readers, the sisters said they found their inspiration during the pandemic while scrolling on TikTok. According to a social media post, the two saw a video about another pair of sisters starting a bookstore and that’s when Bone and Baganz said, “Shouldn’t we start a bookstore?”
Wild Sisters Book Co. first opened in Tahoe Park in 2021 and moved to Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento in 2023. The store hosts reading retreats, story time for children and other events.
The process to launch their Old Sacramento store began in 2024, the post said. The bookstore will be neighbor to EcoPress Sacramento, DearSisa Boutique and Stage Nine Family of Stores.
“This has been nearly two years in the making,” the owners wrote. “...our whole team is SO excited to share that we are opening a second location in Old Sacramento.”
The store has an inventory of more than 5,000 books, according to its online shop. In addition to its massive book collection, Wild Sisters Book Co. hosts multiple book clubs, exploring genres such as mystery and thriller, cooking, young adult, fiction and romance.
Wild Sisters Book Co. at 3325 Folsom Blvd. is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
