Why we love this kitchen: its colors, open concept, space to cook, dance amid islands

Today’s “Bee My Guest” segment highlights two of our favorite features of a $2.7 million, 5,700-square-foot home in Lincoln.

Bee My Guest is the Sacramento Bee’s occasional video series highlighting our favorite home amenities. Past episodes have spotlighted a lazy river, a hidden room, a stately East Sacramento backyard garden and more. Past episodes can be seen here.

The Lincoln home is impressive right off the bat when you enter through a custom circular front door made of of oak wood and glass.

Lincoln is about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, California.

Our second standout feature is the main attraction: a large, beautiful, open kitchen built for entertaining.

Like the home, the kitchen blends modern concepts with contemporary design. It features three islands, Miele appliances, two sub-zero refrigerators, two dishwashers and lava stone countertops that withstand high temperatures so cooks can set smoking-hot pots and pans from the stove or oven directly onto the surface without worry.

There is also secondary prep kitchen for large dinner parties.

See the video above for details.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home, built in 2008, sits on a little over an acre and is fully ADA ready. On the market for less than a month, the residence in the Catta Verdera community, at 204 Rua Esperanza, also offers a separate guest casita and a soundproof home theater with $150,000 worth of electronics.

Cherie Shaller and Nick Sadek of Nick Sadek’s Sotheby’s International Realty are the listing agents.
