Granite Bay home takes bathrooms to a new level — just follow huge, gold-frame mirror

Interior designer David Leinberger and his wife Pat Woods opened up their opulent — yet comfortable — Granite Bay mansion for the latest episode in our “Bee My Guest” series.

“Bee My Guest” is The Sacramento Bee’s occasional video series highlighting our favorite home amenities. Past episodes have spotlighted a lazy river, a hidden room, a stately East Sacramento backyard garden and more. Past episodes can be seen here.

This episode goes inside the “lush richness” of the home, as the official property listing puts it.

“Like opening a jewelry box, the inside delights with grand spaces,” according to the listing.

Perhaps none grander than the primary owner suite’s spa-like bathroom and the fabulous study with a fireplace and artisan ceiling that listing agent Elizabeth Axelgard of Keller Williams showed in the “Bee My Guest” episode.

Leinberger and Woods’ home, designed in the Ralph Lauren vein, is on the market for $3.245 million. The estate is a six-bedroom, seven bathroom residence spanning 7,536 square feet. The lot at 9760 Los Lagos Circle in Granite Bay is one acre.

In the featured “Bee My Guest” video above, Axelgard makes two stops — in the grand office/study and in the second owner’s suite bathroom (where an unexpected ceiling water faucet fills the soaking tub below) — before getting to our spotlighted features.

Axelgard said among her other favorite features is the home’s 14- to 21-foot ceilings.

However, “my favorite room in the whole house is the office,” she said.

With that, “Bee My Guest” gives a two-for-one look at our favorite spaces: the office and the bathroom — which sits at the end of a long, dramatic hallway capped by a massive 16-foot gold-framed mirror.
