New interactive map shows 2022 home value changes in every Sacramento-area ZIP code

As the dust settles on a turbulent 2022 in the local real estate market, a realization is coming into view: home values in some parts of the Sacramento region end the year roughly where they started.

New data from Zillow show the median home value in the Sacramento region rose just under 3% between December 2021 and December 2022. Ryan Lundquist, a Sacramento-area real estate appraiser and analyst, reported last week that values dropped 4.5% in the four-county region.

The interactive map below shows the change in value for a larger geographic area, with numbers for just about every ZIP code between Davis and Lake Tahoe. The southern suburbs of Placer County, including Roseville, saw modest gains. So did Folsom and much of Elk Grove.

The most significant increases were seen in the region’s rural areas, including Ione and the areas near Highway 70 south of Marysville.

The map automatically updates each month as new data from Zillow become available.
