House hunting for the new Kings coach
Two months after being fired by the Sacramento Kings, longtime NBA head coach George Karl has put his home in Sacramento up for sale.
A records request to the Sacramento County Assessor confirmed that the El Nido Way home in Arden Park belongs to Karl. He put the home up for sale last week for $949,000, according to listing Realtor Kim Pacini-Hauch’s website.
“It’s in a good neighborhood, and getting a lot interest,” Pacini-Hauch of ReMax Gold told the Business Journal.
The home is about 3,200 square feet and was remodeled last year. It features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, and is equipped with features such as quartz countertops and wood floors. The house also has a pool with a waterfall and a spa in the backyard.
The Sacramento Kings hired Karl in 2014 to replace Tyrone Corbin. Karl was in the first year of a four-year deal worth nearly $15 million.
Karl became the fifth winningest coach in the NBA last season when the Kings beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 4, 2016. With that victory, Karl moved ahead of 11-time NBA champion Phil Jackson on the NBA’s all-time wins list.
