‘You’re not going to shoot me,’ partygoer tells 71-year-old host. He did, CA cops say
A 71-year-old California man’s holiday party ended with a noticeable lack of good cheer after an altercation early Sunday, San Rafael police report in a release.
David MichaelSimonini shoved a woman down on a couch and pointed a gun at a friend attending the party, ordering him out of his home, at 1:30 a.m., KNTV reported.
The former guest and his wife went out the front door to the porch as ordered, police reported. Then the man made a comment to Simonini.
“He said, ‘You’re not going to shoot me.’ And the suspect fires into his left foot, causing injury to his left foot,” said Sgt. Justin Graham of the San Rafael Police Department, KPIX reported.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired found the wounded guest on the street, where emergency crews provided first aid, KRON reported. He was later treated and released at a hospital.
Simonini faces charges including assault with a firearm, criminal threats and spousal battery, police said in the release.
Marin County Jail records show Simonini has been released on $50,000 bail, KPIX reported.
