An SUV and sweeper truck collided on the Golden Gate Bridge and injured nearby officers and workers, police told news outlets.

Two California Highway Patrol officers and three Golden Gate Bridge workers were injured Thursday, Nov. 11, when the two vehicles collided, officials told NBC Bay Area.

The officers and workers were monitoring a nearby protest against COVID-19 vaccine mandates, according to KTVU.

However, the crash was not related to the protest, KRON4 reported.

Officers had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital, KRON4 reported. The workers had minor injuries.

One worker was also taken to the hospital, according to NBC Bay Area.

Both drivers involved in the crash were not injured, KRON4 reported.

Dozens of California Highway Patrol officials and bridge workers had been acting as a buffer between the traffic on the bridge and the hundreds of protesters, KTVU reported.
