Grandpa killed in hit-and-run while trying to cross street with grandson, CA cops say
An 85-year-old grandpa was killed in a hit-and-run while trying to cross the street, California police said.
At 9:30 p.m. on July 13, the man was with his 41-year-old grandson in Los Angeles when a car going east struck them as they tried to cross the street, according to a news release shared on Twitter by the city’s police department.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department got to the scene and took the pair to the hospital, police said.
Medical staff pronounced the 85-year-old dead at the hospital, and the 41-year-old is in stable condition, according to the release.
Although officers said the vehicle type is unknown, it was dark-colored.
Los Angeles police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver and ask anyone with information to call 323-421-2500, according to the release.
