Disneyland workers taken to hospitals after hazmat incident at Tomorrowland
A hazardous materials incident at Disneyland sent seven employees of the Anaheim, California, theme park to hospitals, police said.
Workers reported a strong odor backstage near the Star Tours attraction in Tomorrowland at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Anaheim police told The Sacramento Bee.
Seven were taken to hospitals to be treated, police said. No visitors were affected.
Workers reported “reported minor pain, shortness of breath and dizziness,” police told KCBS.
Disneyland officials blamed building materials being used by a contractor nearby, KNBC said.
The affected backstage areas were closed as a precaution, the Los Angeles Times said.
Star Tours is a Star Wars-themes motion simulator ride.
