Sacramento on the list of Condé Nast’s top places to visit in the U.S.
With the summer travel season about to descend, it’s worth a reminder that you don’t have to go far to enjoy fine dining and quality entertainment.
Condé Nast Traveler’s Best Places to Go in 2026 put Sacramento on its short list of the top 14 spots to visit in the U.S.
From its Michelin-starred dining to its farm-to-fork ethos to its food markets, the travel guide ranked Sacramento alongside Charleston, South Carolina, Boston and Chicago when it released the list late last year.
The article’s author points to openings and major events that were part of the draw in selecting who made the list, including the ongoing Hotel Eleanor project.
The “City of Trees” also got a nod for its sports teams and “Old Sacramento’s riverfront, where wooden sidewalks and historic buildings transport visitors back to the Gold Rush era,” according to the article.
Other top California attractions on the list included Route 66, Catalina Island and San Francisco.
