Player wins six-figure jackpot on $5 holiday weekend bet at Sacramento casino

Three gamblers at Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Sacramento won six-figure jackpots on slot machines over the Fourth of July weekend, casino officials reported.

The first player won $190,700 on a $50 bet on a “Red Fortune” slot machine Thursday, July 2, the casino said in a news release.

On Saturday, July 4, another visitor won $203,800 on a $5 bet on a “Monopoly” progressive slot machine.

A third gambler won $217,463 on a $5 bet on a “Buffalo LInk” slot machine on Sunday, July 5.

“Two guests winning more than $421,000 combined in less than a day is extraordinary, and we’re thrilled for both of them,” said Dawn Clayton, general manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “It’s been an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend at Thunder Valley.”

Thunder Valley has paid out more than 251,000 jackpots over the past year, averaging nearly 700 jackpots per day, or roughly one every two minutes.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort at 1200 Athens Ave. in Lincoln has 3,500 slot machines and 89 table games. It is about 35 miles northeast of Sacramento.
