Flyover honoring coronavirus health workers to pass Sacramento hospitals in afternoon

Aircraft with the California Air National Guard will perform a pair of flyovers midday Monday, passing over hospitals in the Bay Area and Sacramento area to honor health care workers, first responders and essential workers in the fight against COVID-19 on Memorial Day.

A formation of one military plane and two rescue helicopters with the Air National Guard’s 129th Rescue Wing will fly around the north and south Bay Area from about 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

A lone HC-130J Combat King II plane with the 129th will also pass over the Sacramento area, Central California and Salinas in the early afternoon, according to an event description on Facebook.

The latter flyover is scheduled to pass above the following Sacramento-area medical centers at these approximate times, according to social media posts by the 129th:

12:21 p.m. — Sutter Davis

12:23 p.m. — Woodland Memorial

12:35 p.m. — Sutter Roseville

12:36 p.m. — Mercy San Juan in Carmichael

12:40 p.m. — Mercy Hospital of Folsom

12:48 p.m. — Sutter Elk Grove

12:48 p.m. — Dignity Health in Elk Grove

12:49 p.m. — Kaiser Permanente Elk Grove Promenade

The flyover will proceed south from there through Lodi and Stockton, down to Los Banos, then southwest to Salinas.

The loops will start and end at the 129th Rescue Wing’s home base, Moffett Air National Guard Base in Mountain View.
