A man suspected of assaulting a Roseville police officer earlier this week was arrested Tuesday evening in Sacramento.
Shane Pellandini, 29, was arrested by officers with the Sacramento Police Department and booked into Sacramento County jail just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to online inmate information.
Roseville police said Pellandini assaulted a police officer who responded to a minor traffic collision Monday night, then fled the scene. The officer suffered minor injuries, Roseville police spokesman Rob Baquera said in an emailed statement.
The Roseville Police Department served a search warrant for Pellandini at a residence off North Cirby Way on Tuesday morning, but the suspect was not located.
Pellandini faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor resisting arrest in Sacramento County, as well as the outstanding warrant in Placer County for the assault.
The suspect was located and arrested Tuesday with assistance from Sacramento police and deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the Roseville Police Department said in a tweet.
