Fatality reported after pickup truck strikes tree along Highway 50 in Folsom, CHP says

At least one person has died after a vehicle struck a tree off the side of Highway 50 in Folsom early Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to the fatal collision along westbound Highway 50 near the East Bidwell Street exit shortly after 5:15 a.m., according to the CHP incident log.

Fire personnel and the Sacramento County coroner’s office responded to the scene, where a pickup truck had collided with a tree about 20 feet off the right-hand side of the roadway, according to the incident log.

No other details have been released.
