Pedestrian, 38, dies after Saturday night crash in Meadowview, Sacramento Police say
A pedestrian died at after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood.
Officers responded to a collision in the area of Kenworthy Way and 24th Street shortly after 9:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Sacramento Police Department’s daily activity log.
Arriving officers found a pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries, who was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, according to the daily log.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, who said DUI and speed were not considered factors in the collision. No arrests were announced.
The victim has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Michael Jeffrey Sims, 38, of Sacramento.
