Sacramento police officers among 3 injured when patrol car and another vehicle crash

Two Sacramento police officers in a patrol vehicle and a driver in another car were injured Thursday after their vehicles crashed near an intersection.

The crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of 24th Street and 34th Avenue in south Sacramento.

Officer Karl Chan, a Sacramento police spokesman, said the patrol vehicle was involved in a collision with the car. He said the two officers and the other driver suffered minor injuries, and all three were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Authorities were still investigating the cause of the traffic collision.
