Waiting on your stimulus check in Sacramento? See if it’s on its way to your ZIP code

California is still sending out the Golden State Stimulus checks up to $1,100 to eligible residents.

To qualify for the stimulus, you must have filed your 2020 taxes by Oct. 15 and have made less than $75,000 for the 2020 tax year. You also must have been a California resident for more than half of 2020 and not be claimed as a dependent by a taxpayer.

The state has been sending out the stimulus checks since October. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, didn’t receive your tax refund or owed money when you were filing taxes, you will receive a paper check via mail, according to the State of California Franchise Tax Board.

The payments will be mailed to the address on your 2020 tax return. You can see the mailing period based on the last three numbers of your postal code.

The following California ZIP codes are up next, including many in the Sacramento area. Here are the mailing time frames:

  • 720 - 927: 12/13/2021 - 12/31/2021

  • 928 - 999: 12/27/2021 - 1/11/2022

These ZIP codes have already been mailed, or are expected to be by Friday:

  • 000 - 044: 10/6/2021 - 10/27/2021

  • 045 - 220: 10/18/2021 - 11/5/2021

  • 221 - 375: 11/1/2021 - 11/19/2021

  • 376 - 584: 11/15/2021 - 12/3/2021

  • 585 - 719: 11/29/2021 - 12/17/2021

It can take up to three weeks for you to get your check in your mailbox once they are sent out.

If you want to estimate how much your stimulus check will amount to, you can find out online at the SCFTB website.
