Bicyclist killed by train near Sutter’s Landing Regional Park in Sacramento

A bicyclist was fatally struck by a train Wednesday night near Sutter’s Landing Regional Park in Sacramento.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, near the 28th Street crossing just west of the Capital City Freeway, Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Keith Wade said.

Police and fire personnel responded to the crash, Wade said.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
