Roadway fatality

Two brothers died following a crash Monday in Sacramento’s Ben Ali neighborhood, near the Capital City Freeway.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the first victim as 25-year-old Atonio Makalio Taliauli, of Sacramento. The coroner then identified the second victim as Deonzeo Telai Taliauli, 26, also of Sacramento.

Coroner’s records indicate the two men are brothers.

The Sacramento Fire Department reported a single-vehicle crash with three victims early Monday morning near Marconi Avenue and Connie Drive. Fire personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene, and two others were taken to hospitals with injuries described as “critical.”

Both the Taliauli men died Monday, according to the coroner. No information was available regarding the status or identity of the third victim.

The crash was being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, the Fire Department said.
