If you need a ride to a vote center or ballot drop box on Election Day, Sacramento Regional Transit has your back.

The district is working with Sacramento County for the system-wide Free Ride Day on Tuesday, Nov. 8 across the region.

This is in an effort to boost voter turnout and make voting more accessible for residents for the California 2022 General Election.

“By removing the transportation barrier, we hope that Sacramento-area voters take advantage of free rides to help cast their ballot,” SacRT General Manager and CEO Henry Li said in a media release. “It is free to vote and SacRT is making it free to drive you to vote.”

Which buses are a part of Free Ride Day?

Free rides are offered on all fixed-route buses. This includes Causeway Connection, Elk Grove, e-van, Folsom and Rancho CordoVan, light rail, SmaRT Ride and SacRT GO transit services.

What do I do to redeem a free ride?

Just board the bus.

You don’t need to show a flyer or use a code to take advantage of the free ride.

You can plan your trip with SacRT to a vote center or ballot box location online.
