How much rain and snow fell in Sacramento and Tahoe over the last 72 hours? Here’s the latest
After three days of consecutive rain throughout Sacramento, precipitation totals are averaging well over an inch.
The region will get a few dry days before the second rain system pours over.
“Essentially (Wednesday) through Friday, we’re looking at dry conditions with some near to below freezing overnight low temperatures,” said Katrina Hand, a National Weather Service meteorologist. “Then we have an additional storm arriving over the weekend.”

Latest rain totals
Below are 24-hour rain totals as of Wednesday morning throughout Sacramento area, according to the weather service:
- Sacramento: 0.68 inches
- Roseville: 0.63 inch
- Auburn: 1.33 inch
- Folsom: 0.55 inches
- Placerville: 0.56 inches
- Davis: 0.31 inches
Wednesday night, Sacramento will go under a freeze warning as temperatures will reach 31 degrees. Frosty temperatures will continue into Friday night, according to the weather service forecast.
Cumulative rain totals
Downtown Sacramento measured 2.56 inches in the month of February, more than an inch below its normal of 3.63 inches.

Below are 72-hour snow totals as of Wednesday morning, according to the weather service:
- Grass Valley: 2.19 feet
- Sierra Snow Lab: 7.26 feet
- Kirkwood: 5.5 feet
- Sierra at Tahoe: 5.25 feet
- Palisades: 7.66 feet
According to the California Department of Water Resources, 49 stations are reporting snow pack totals in the Central Sierra at 198% of normal as of March 1. In the last week, the Central Sierra Snow Lab in Soda Springs measured nearly 12 feet. The snow water equivalent is 46.3 inches.
Palisades cumulative snowfall for this season is 501 inches at 8,000 feet.
