Pedestrian fatally struck by car near Daly Avenue in Antelope, CHP North Sacramento says
A pedestrian died early Tuesday after he was struck by a car while crossing a street in north Sacramento County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Shortly after 4 a.m., the male pedestrian was crossing Antelope Road, just west of Daly Avenue in Antelope, the CHP North Sacramento Area Office announced in a news release.
The CHP said the 56-year-old North Highlands motorist was driving a 2011 BMW west on Antelope Road and was not able to stop or slow the vehicle before it hit the pedestrian.
Medics arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release his name and age after he has been identified and his family had been notified.
The CHP said driving under the influence was not a factor in this collision, and the BMW driver was not arrested. The motorist was not injured in the collision.
