Motorcyclist killed in south Sacramento crash on Fruitridge Road, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with another vehicle Thursday morning on Fruitridge Road in unincorporated south Sacramento, authorities said.

A vehicle making a left turn collided with a motorcycle heading eastbound on Fruitridge Road near Nona Way around 7 a.m., California Highway Patrol South Sacramento spokesman Officer Mark Leavitt said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with major injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, Leavitt said.

The other vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Leavitt said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
