Driver killed, another injured in two-vehicle crash on Elk Grove’s Grant Line Road

One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Elk Grove, police and fire officials said.

The crash happened just after 5:15 a.m. on Grant Line Road between Elk Grove Boulevard and Bradshaw Road, the Elk Grove Police Department said in a news release.

A red Honda sedan was traveling eastbound on Grant Line Road when it drifted into the westbound lane, and struck a white pickup truck, according to the news release.

The Honda driver, described by police as a 24-year-old man and the only occupant of that vehicle, died at the scene. The pickup truck driver was taken to a hospital with injuries described as minor by the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.

The deceased victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
