CHP investigators look for driver of abandoned pickup in El Dorado County hit-and-run
The California Highway Patrol on Tuesday asked for help in the search for the driver an abandoned pickup truck believed have been involved in a hit-and-run crash in earlier this month in El Dorado County.
The CHP Placerville area office is looking for the driver or the owner of a 1991 Dodge Dakota pickup. The CHP released photos of the abandoned pickup with what appeared to be expired 2019 California license plate tags.
The CHP said the Dodge pickup was involved in an April 19 hit-and-run crash on Union Mine Road, which resulted in major injuries. The driver left the crash scene in the Dodge pickup that was later found abandoned. There was no further information about the crash.
Anyone who recognizes the Dodge pickup, can identify the driver or the vehicle’s owner or knows the property where the pickup is usually parked is asked to call the CHP at 530-748-2450 or 916-861-1300.
