Discovery Park in Sacramento is now “fully open” after being closed due to flooding, according to the Sacramento County Regional Parks Department’s Twitter.

The park is off of Interstate 5 downtown at the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers. Following the downpour of rain from January to March, the park was underwater. This led to closures and the rescheduling of Sacramento’s two-day R&B festival Sol Blume.

The festival was set for April 29 to 30 and will now be on Aug. 19 to 20.

According to the county park’s website, flooding at Discovery Park is common.

“Discovery Park is part of the Sacramento area flood control system,” it stated. “It is designed to flood to take pressure off American River levees when there is a lot of water in the system.”
