Three Roseville men killed after car hits a power pole and overturns, the CHP reports
Three Roseville men were killed after their car crashed into a power pole Sunday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., Zachary Brown, Lucas Braner and Lane Castro, all 21, of Roseville were in a BMW that hit the pole while traveling at high speeds in Placer County, California Highway Patrol authorities said.
The collision caused the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn several times before stopping on the south shoulder of Vineyard Road. The car was going west on Vineyard, with the crash occurring just west of Cook Riolo Road.
As of its last update at 7:37 a.m. Sunday, the CHP stated that Vineyard between Crowder and Cook Riolo roads was closed for investigation.
The three men were pronounced dead at the scene by Placer County Fire personnel.
Angela Musallam, a Placer County spokeswoman, said Tuesday that it is still unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, The CHP said that the Placer County Coroner’s Office will conduct a toxicology report.
The incident is under investigation and CHP officials said any witnesses should contact the Auburn California Highway Patrol Office at 916-663-3344.
