Despite July 4 landing on a Tuesday this year, it shouldn’t stop you from taking full advantage of the holiday, even if you have to return to work Wednesday.

This includes Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento and Hagan Community Park in Rancho Cordova, which will have carnival rides, concerts and races. Depending on where you go, the event may either be free or have an admission.

July 4 events

Besides fireworks, Sacramento will also be hosting plenty of events for families and friends.

There are the July 4-themed cruises you can take on the Sacramento River where you can enjoy the city’s skyline and fireworks at night. Or you can partake in a bike parade at Arden Park.

Drakes: The Barn in West Sacramento is also having a July 4 event, featuring a live DJ and silent disco.
