Famous Footwear is closing Sacramento-area store. Here’s where — and what’s replacing it
Popular shoe store chain Famous Footwear is closing one of its Sacramento-area stores.
The retailer will close its location at 1872 Arden Way in Sacramento at the end of January, according to The Sacramento Business Journal.
The Famous Footwear store at Point West Plaza shopping center will be replaced by Daiso, a Japanese discount store chain.
Leasing material for the plaza indicates that Daiso is slated to take over the 5,500-square-foot space.
The Sacramento Bee reached out to Famous Footwear for confirmation of the closure but had not received a response as of Wednesday afternoon.
What is Daiso?
If Daiso replaces Famous Footwear at Point West Plaza, it will be the chain’s sixth store in the Sacramento area.
The Korean-owned company, which is headquartered in Japan, specializes in home decor, stationary, food items and more at bargain prices.
Daiso opened its fifth Sacramento-area store in February in Elk Grove, The Bee previously reported.
