The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a small vegetation fire Tuesday at Gibson Ranch Regional Park, the second vegetation fire at the county park in two days.

The fire did not spread significantly, Metro Fire spokesman Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn said, and most of the fire units were released after the initial call was made around 5:40 p.m.

The first fire at the park in Sacramento County’s Elverta neighborhood was reported around 4:30 a.m. Monday and spread to 2 acres through heavy brush, according to Wilbourn.

No injuries or structure damage were reported, and the cause of both fires were under investigation.
