Coffee shop opens in Sacramento’s Tahoe Park with ‘authentic flavor.’ What’s on the menu? 

A new local coffee shop has opened in Sacramento, serving up colorful drink combinations in a former Starbucks space.

Chaii is currently in its soft opening phase at 2992 65th St., Suite 100, in the Tahoe Park neighborhood.

The shop, which officially opened its doors on July 28, sells an assortment of drinks, small bites and desserts, including boba, tea and coffee.

A grand opening is slated for Saturday, Aug. 24, according to the restaurant’s social media pages.

What is Chaii?

Chaii advertises itself as a destination for the “aromatic allure of specialty drinks” and an “unforgettable beverage experience.”

The coffeehouse announced in July that it was bringing its drink concept to Sacramento after two years in the making.

An owner wasn’t available to comment on Tuesday morning when a Sacramento Bee reporter called the coffee shop.

What’s on the menu at new Sacramento coffee shop?

Chaii’s menu features teas, bubble drinks, coffees and desserts, the local coffee shop wrote on its social media pages.

Customers can pair neon-colored macaroons with matcha and white mocha lattes, according to review site Yelp.

Also available are bagels, grilled cheese sandwiches and egg rolls, according to the coffee shop’s menu.

Locals react to opening of new Tahoe Park restaurant

Locals reacted to the coffee shop’s soft opening on social media, sharing anecdotes about their first experience.

“If you would like to experience authentic flavor and finally enjoy (real) chai, search no more,” Yelp user Jessie K. said wrote in a recent review, calling Chaii “your oasis.”

Yelp user Paulina D. said Chaii is “still ironing out the kinks,” noting that the menu is extensive but complaining that that parking at the restaurant is difficult and the packaging feels “cheap.”

“All in all, I hope they succeed!” she wrote. “Love to see a small business within walking distance and I’m excited to try more of their options.”

Another Yelp user, Mark H., described Chaii as a pleasant surprise with little noise and plenty of seating.

“My mother, who loves boba, actually loved it, which says a lot,” he added.

What are open hours?

Chaii is open seven days a week, a coffee shop representative confirmed Tuesday morning via phone.

Business hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, as well as 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
