Two adults and five children were displaced after a fire severely damaged a home and destroyed a car in Arden Arcade on Wednesday morning, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

The fire started just before 1 a.m. on the 1500 block of Rowena Way in a neighborhood off Fulton Avenue and Arden Way. Crews were able to limit the fast-moving blaze to a one-story home and prevented it from spreading to a house next door, Metro Fire said.

Metro Fire said it was working with the Red Cross to find shelter for the residents who were displaced.

No injuries were reported, Metro Fire said.
