73-year-old pedestrian killed in van accident in Auburn, police seeking more information

A 73-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in a vehicle crash Thursday night in Auburn, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a collision at 8:17 p.m. at Edgewood Road east of Blitz Lane where a Ford van hit a pedestrian in the eastbound lane.

Emergency responders attempted life-saving efforts before the woman, who was resident of Orangevale, was pronounced dead at Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

The woman is expected to be identified by the Placer County Coroner’s Office once relatives are notified.

The CHP Auburn office is investigating the crash and encouraging anyone with information to call investigators at 916-663-3344.
